Necessary operation
The Academy uses authenticated sign-in and browser/server state to keep sessions, support navigation and save learning work. Authentication and hosting providers may use their own necessary session technologies; review their notices. ## Learning progress on shared devices
Current learning drafts and results are saved against the signed-in account. Earlier course versions may also leave progress or notes in browser local storage. Signing out may not remove older local data. On shared devices, sign out of the account, avoid saving private information locally and clear site data after confirming needed work is saved to your account. Clearing local data can remove unsynced older work.
## Optional technologies
This update does not introduce advertising or optional analytics scripts. Do not enable non-essential tracking without first checking the applicable consent requirements, publishing a specific notice and implementing usable choices. Do not claim that an unimplemented consent banner manages tracking.
## Controls
